Description:

Vintage Japanese hanging scroll (kakemono) featuring an ink wash painting of a seated Buddhist monk, executed in traditional sumi-e style. The scroll is mounted with a blue and green floral brocade border and includes Japanese calligraphy and signature stamps. Approximate length over 3 feet, suitable for authentic Japanese interior decoration or collection of Asian art. No year or artist identified, but typical of early to mid-20th century craftsmanship.
