Description:

 

  • Nursing chairs date from the Victorian era (mid-1800s) and were designed for mothers to sit low to the ground while feeding babies or tending children.
  • The low seat made it easier for women in corsets and long skirts to nurse babies closer to the floor or near the fire.
  • Makes a great side table with a tray on top of the seat or for stacking books
