This is from the estate of “Rosie the Riveter” of
Moffatt Field, “Rose Lesslie”.
Gorgeous 1890’s 3 Panel Mirror.
This is a beautiful example of early artistry found in
everyday objects. The mirror's overall width is approximately
48 3/4". The height at the top of the gesso is 14 3/4 and
1 1/4" wide.
Lovely Antique Mantle/Buffett mirror was popular in the
early 1900s. It has three panels of thick glass mirror held
to the solid wood backing by raised brass rosettes.
Designed gesso moulding on wood is part of the frame.
The outside section of the mirror is reverse etched with
flowers. The frame color is gold gilt over dark with some
hand painting in blue, red on the floral and vine designs on
top of Gesso.
There is a little damage on the right corner, we were told it fell during the 1989 SF Earthquake.
