Description:

A RARE pair of hand-hammered Copper Bookends with Hallmarks. An excellent pair of Arts and Crafts Mission style hand wrought copper bookends by Craftsman Studios of Laguna Beach California. It's a classic Arts and Crafts style with an arched shield shape with slightly puffed out centers and graceful lower inward wave and crocodile skin hand hammering.

Each features an enameled black scottie on a orange enameled background. Each bears the hammer and anvil mark of the Craftsman studios. This particular pair was hand-made at their Laguna Beach, California location. A model number is impressed below the mark. It's 278. Nice patina on these.

The bookends are just over 5 inches high by 4-1/2" wide at the base and have green wool felt applied to the bottoms. The patina is original - they've never been cleaned or polished and are in very good condition with some scratches. There are also some small spots of verdigris on the backs.
