Description:

LINGARD WEBSTER & Co TUNSTALL "MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB" 2 Pint Novelty Tea Pot This Fabulous Tea Pot comes from the Lingard & Webster Pottery in Tunstall Staffordshire. Lingard's made a number of Teapots with a Nursery Rhyme Theme in the 1930's - Including "The Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe", "Humpty Dumpty" and "Mary had a Little Lamb". There were often Variations on the same Teapot. This is the Rarer Yellow Version - the Green Version of this Teapot is more commonly found. The Tea Pot is emulating a Mary and Her Lamb - this time Mary seems to be Carrying her Lamb to a Very Posh "Do". She's wearing A Flowing Yellow Dress with Gilded Highlights. She's Wearing a Bonnet and has a Big Bow at her Back. The TeaPot is 8 3/4" Tall to the Top of her Bonnet and measures 8 1/2" from the Lip to the Back of the Handle. It sits on an Oval Base measuring 5 3/4" by 4 1/2".The Top Rim is around 2 1/2" by 1 3/4" and the Lid Fits Over the Rim and has a Secure Notch System. The Pot has a Capacity of 2 Pint. On the Base there's an Impressed "Mary had a little Lamb" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" . The TeaPot is in Good Condition.
