Barbara Wigren (1932-2021) American, Watercolor. "Earthy Rhythms" signed. Wigren studied art at the University of California, Berkeley graduating in 1954 in the early years of the California Abstract Movement. She began exhibiting and became an "Outstanding Achievement Member" of the California Watercolor Association. She was a member of the San Francisco Women Artists, a prominent association formed in 1887 to counter the all male artists Bohemian Club. She was also a member of the Oakland Art Association and President of the East Bay Watercolor Association. Her stature in the art community lead to her selection as a judge in the San Francisco Film Festival from 1981-1984.
