User Agreement / Bidder Terms
Thank you for shopping with us, Picks and Treasures! First and foremost, we are an estate liquidation company. MANY times we do not have the history of the item(s), nor would the family or the Trustee/Executor that hired us.
Our General Rule:
All items in this auction are AS IS in its present condition with all faults, visible or not. No warranty or guarantee is made by the seller. It is the Buyers responsibility to ASK QUESTIONS prior to bidding. All Sales are FINAL. No Refunds, No Returns.
10% Buyers Premium and CA Sales Tax added to all invoices. There will be a 50% re-stocking fee on all non-payments. Failure to pick up item(s) on stated pick up days or times will result in your items being forfeited and disposed accordingly. Absolutely no refunds. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
For Bulky Items that are abandoned or not picked up - account will now be blocked until a $45.00 Disposal Fee is Paid.
Bring your own labor, boxes for packing, supplies for packing, and tools for dismantling. We are NOT equipped to provide any.
PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT US TO ASSIST WITH THE CARRYOUT OF YOUR ITEMS. If you do not have sufficient labor to carry out your items, you will be asked to return on another day/time during pick up days and times with enough labor to help.
Below you will find our Terms and Agreements when bidding or winning items from our auctions:
When Bidding:
- Pay attention to our Auction Titles which will denote the CITY where pick ups will occur.
- Pay attention to our Auction Title which will denote if it's an OFF-SITE or ON SITE.
- Off-Site occurs in one of our warehouses located in Novato or Rohnert Park
- On-Site occurs in a PRIVATE RESIDENCE where we require APPOINTMENT PICK UPS and Limit People in the House (do not ask us to use the bathroom!). Clients who hire us mandate privacy and do not want people in the house.
- PLAN for what you are bidding on! If you bid on a large bulky furniture, then plan to bring necessary equipment and people to help you! We cannot help you while it's our busiest times pulling orders and helping those who are picking up. We are required to keep post of both outside and inside. IF, and only IF, we are able to - we can and have helped.
ELECTRONICS - We do not test any electronics, we will do our best to "power on", but that is the limit of our testing. So, if you see "Power On/Un-Tested" that means we see light when we power it on, but we didn't throw ingredients in the blender to "test" it.
ART - We can identify most items as Prints or Paintings. What we can't identify if they are Lithographs, Giclée, Originals, etc. If we truly can't tell what it is, we blanket our title as "Artwork". If you end up with an original that we titled as a "Print" - we are genuinely HAPPY for you! We understand the risks to bid on things you can't inspect yourself.
JEWELRY - I (owner of Picks and Treasures) personally love picking through jewelry, but I'm far from being a Gemologist to identify stones/gems nor do I acid test Silver/Gold/Platinum. All our jewelry will be listed and show MARKINGS only. If I feel something isn't really gold or silver - I will list it and put my personal opinion that "I don't feel this is truly gold". There is no guarantee of these markings nor is there a guarantee if I feel something isn't really gold or silver.
When we get a very large private high end collection of jewelry - I will take it to a Gemologist who will do that scanning and testing, and assist in identifying gems. In any of these I will disclose "Gemologist Verified". Again, there is no guarantee.
COINS - I, again, love coins! But, we will list coins but we never test them if they are "fake". If you see a coin that you believe is a rare date or mintage - ASK FOR MORE INFORMATION! We will take close-ups, weigh if needed, etc. We do attempt to respond to these requests, but can't always get to every one of them.
DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF PAYING OR PICKING UP YOUR ITEMS! Please ... I am a small business that is my passion, and loss of weekly income makes it tight when paying my overhead and staff.
When Winning:
SHIPPING IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON OUR WAREHOUSE AUCTIONS "OFF-SITE", AND SOMETIMES WE WILL LIST SHIPPING AVAILABLE ON AUCTIONS THAT ARE "on-site". Pay attention to what we will ship!
- Requests must be emailed to [email protected] no later than the last hour of stated pickup day/time.
- Cost will include labor, packing material, insurance, and box (if not carrier provided)
- All packages will be mailed via USPS Ground Advantage
- Signature Required for all orders over $100
- All items must safely fit (with packing material) up to a 10"x10"10" box
- Your auction order must be PAID, we will invoice separately for shipping costs after your emailed request to [email protected]
- Buyer will be responsible for filing of any claims to USPS for missing packages (shows delivered) and any proven evidence of damaged box due to mishandling
- Shipping invoices not paid within 24 hours will automatically cancel the shipping request and all items will be deemed forfeited
Shipping Invoices will be sent no later than 2 days AFTER the last day of pick up.
In general, by default for on-site auctions WE DO NOT OFFER SHIPPING, nor do we offer any services to TRANSFER TO OUR WAREHOUSE. If you do not pick up on stated days and times - you forfeit your items. We turn over the house after our last day of pick ups, and high chances are the house will be completely emptied out. During this time, to ask if we can grab it for you and bring it back to the warehouse is unreasonable. We have many moving parts and I guarantee you - even if my intentions are to be nice and do it, it will get lost in the abyss of my very small car.
In very rare cases, I will offer shipping and transfers on ON-SITE AUCTIONS. Usually this occurs when I feel parking will be an issue or the house has many small items to help reduce the craziness of pickups occurring in a private residence.

Lastly, WE DO NOT TRANSFER ITEMS BETWEEN OUR WAREHOUSES! No response is a "NO".
