Description:

This coin has a mass of 12.5 grams. Its composition is 90% silver & 10% copper. It was commissioned by the San Francisco Citizens' Committee to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of California's statehood. The coin was minted in August 1925 and had a mintage of approximately 150,000 coins. Approximately half that number were sold and the remaining half of the minted coins were melted.
