This is a vintage mid century modern sewing box table made in Norway by Strømmen Bruk of Hamar, a respected Scandinavian furniture maker known for high-quality craftsmanship. Dating to the late 1950s to mid 1960s, this piece features a classic expandable accordion-style design with multiple interior compartments and solid wood construction, likely birch or beech, finished in a warm honey-toned lacquer. The original red label inside reads “AS Strømmen Bruk Hamar – Product of Norway,” confirming authenticity.

The sewing box opens smoothly to reveal generous storage and includes extending side surfaces, allowing it to function as both a sewing or craft cabinet and an elegant side table.
