Description:

Original signed painting by Sebastopol, California artist Carole Watanabe, executed on gallery-wrapped canvas. The expressive figurative composition depicts a seated figure rendered with heavy impasto and palette knife brushwork in earth tones with pink, green, green, and gold highlights. Signed "Watanabe" on the front, with the phrase "melting down" painted along the right canvas edge. The reverse is additionally signed and inscribed:

"Dignity Die Alive – a pivotal painting – Aug. 8, 1999 – Carole Watanabe."

Canvas measures approximately 37 inches wide by 51 inches high and is displayed unframed on its original stretcher. The reverse inscription documents the title, date, and the artist's note describing the work as "a pivotal painting." Overall condition appears very good with no obvious repairs observed. Please review photographs for condition and details.
